    Small Vase Still Life

Used oil and dry brush for high lights...dry brush doesn't seem very useful to me because I am not satisified with how this one turned out...C&C welcome

Try to see as many angles of vision as possible...no single one of us has a "handle" on the whole picture.

Hi. Steve. Like the colours. And the pic over all. , one thing bother 's. me. The bottom vase is

Throwing me it looks like we are square on to it plus the shadow almost makes me think

It's got a square base. But take no notice as I'm inclined to dodder. Ok.

I like the colors and the forms

I like the overall tone of the painting and think it is a pretty good job!

I like the over-all feel of this. All the textures are great. As far as highlighting is concerned, try just paint on a small brush, and then feather it out with a knife setting. For more dimension, use pure white at spots where you think the reflected light might be strongest.

I like it, lovely colours and textures, my only slight comment would be that the direction of light source tends to vary somewhat between all the items in the painting.
However I do really like the painting.

I like the colors and texture

The design is also interesting. As far as light reflections go, it would be nice to setup a prop with these or similar objects with a strong point source light to see what it looks like.

Steve, wow this is a very nice work , lovely textures and colors.. the C&C's are spot on... and Skylar's tip for highlights would dramatically add to this....try adding them on a separate layer so you don't mix/mess up the area you want to apply them..

    semd74,
What an exquisite still life. The touches of reflective light in just
the right places compliment the tranquil beauty of this exceptional
    piece. Absolutely beautiful!
