I like simple elegant paintings and I like this. Wonderful symbolism. Makes me think of Old Long Ears

Wonderfully evocative. The colors are exquisite.
I painted in watercolor quite some time ago a still life and I couldn't refrain from putting one of this fruits too, partially open obviously, in the composition.
Here's also the pommegranate (melograno) in the Italian classical art and iconography (symbol of productivity, universal generation and immortality) therefore strictly connected to Mary and baby Jesus images.
The paintings are from Sandro Botticelli (1478 and 1481 a.C.), La Madonna con Melograno and La Madonna Magnificat.
I also added a couple of statues to complement past visual art thereabout.
I hope it will be interesting to see differences and correspendences between civilizations so distantly apart.

I like it very much. I love pomegranate and this little painting perfectly expresses the beauty of the fruit.

    Pomegranate in b&w

Thanks Brett and Silvy ... And Caesar, fascinating images! ...

Also popular in the genre are black and white versions with reddish seeds in relief ... So I've added an attempt to capture that style ...

Beautiful, just beautiful. I am so impressed of how you managed to make sumi-e brush strokes.
