love the texture, the subtle color and the Chinese classical brushwork look.

    I like this one

Up in the cool mountains away from the onslaught of a hot summer.

great format the very tall and narrow emphasizes narrow trails and tall mountains.. the hints of colors and the light lavender on lower right.. very nice touches..you are on a creative roll and I am loving every minute of it

hey eighty+, sometimes I wonder what really is in that hot water bottle you snuggle up with every night, hehe ...

Screenpainter, Tanzenkran and Gary, thank you for your observations ... Imitating the brushwork is way beyond my abilities, and there are limitations inherent in digital media, but it's a goal worth pursuing ...

I like this one very much and especially the reference to Guo Xi, a really great master of lanscape drawing/ painting (in the chinese way with brushes I mean), also considering the age he lived! I think he would be among the galleries I would keep and learn from should I work as a fantasy landscape conceptual artist.

hi Caesar, it's as you say, Guo Xi's landscapes are total fantasies, and perfect for digital media ... he would have been surprised by the addition of color, though

Your wonderful painting brings me back to Mount Hua in China, which I climbed last spring. It looked exactly like that, you've really captured the mountain with such simple and delicate brush strokes.
