    Tui in the tree

Watercolour, oils and a vector drawing of the bird (a tui) that I made some time ago.

Very pretty. The bird looks like he's got his bags packed for a trip South. Colorful "Bon Voyage" streamers and fluttering handkerchiefs, smiles and teary eyes.

Laugh! Always on the move those tuis. Their local English name is the parson bird because of the tuft of white feathers at their throat like an old fashioned minister. They are also amazing mimics. We have one in a tree that sounds like a cell phone - when it wants to :-)

They are beautiful birds. About crow sized. Nectar drinkers so they like to come and drink the sugar water we put out.

you make it look as easy as one tui tree.
