    Stickers Glossy

How were these translucent glossy stickers made?

I would like to create a series of primitive forms in a new sticker category that have the glossy characteristics.

    Thanks.

Stickers are made up of a combination of images representing different properties of the surface including colour, gloss, texture etc.

Page 101 of the manual covers how to import images in to the sticker creator to create a new sheet. Basically, you produce an image to represent each of the different properties of the sticker and import each image in to the appropriate slot.

It would be helpful to have a step by step example of how one glossy sticker was done.

I'd recommend viewing Someonesane's sticker tutorial 'Sticker Sheet and Preset Creation' which you can find in the ArtRage 3x Tutorial List ( At the top of the 'Tips and Tricks' section ). This has an image showing an example of a reflective glossy sticker.

Page 103 of the manual explains how gloss, metallic and texture images work when creating stickers.

    Hi SoulArtist
If you are referring to the stickers that ship with artrage in the Glossy catagory I made them in Adobe Illustrator and then imported them to artrage.

You can find more varieties in this thread
    http://www2.ambientdesign.com/forums...ad.php?t=24764

These stickers rely heavily on the blend and gradient tools available in a vector based program like Illustrator. While it is possible to achieve something similar in Artrage. The result will not be as clean and crisp (see attached).

Are you looking to use the 3D rendering in ArtRage to create a real time gloss effect, or are you just looking to imitate the effect?

Here's a set of marbles that are using ArtRage's 3D light rendering:

    Hello Someonesane:

Thanks for the image. I like those marbles a lot.

I'm not sure what you mean by real time vs imitating. My thought was to create a palette of glossy primitive shapes to experiment with: triangle, square, etc., and maybe more sophisticated glossies, as I get a handle on the process.

Of course, the higher definition the better.
