I love the texture of his fur. Did you use a fur brush?

I also admire how the rock texture looks completely different from the fur texture. Did you achieve that by dragging a palette knife through thick paint?

Thank you all so much for your knd comments, they are very much appreciated.

Slap Happy Larry. The fur was done just with the Ink pen on full taper and the size ranging from 1 to 3%. The log was done with the paint tube, I then used the palette knife on the smudge setting 40% pressure.

beautiful Christine. it even looks incredible on my monitor. Does the retina display help you to get such clarity in the painting do you think? you do the most amazing fur. just breathtaking work.

Thank you all for your very kind comments.

Screenpainter, it's possible that the retina display has helped with clarity because the pixels are much smaller you can do finer detail. Lines are smoother when I am doing each hair the edges are not as jagged. The only thing I am finding is I feel I need more then the 800% zoom now
