    Mother's Pink Rose

    Practice with the loaded knife.
I know I need more study and practice..and I feel the leaves are a bit crude, but I am happy so far with the direction of the petals.

My mother has this climbing pink rose over her garden shed. I am quite envious, though she deserves it because she takes such good care of them.

What an excellent stylization. Love how you did everything, but especially the flower petals. Fresh the way to depict them. Your stuff seems to be taking on such an unique polish.

The formal elements are so accomplished, and translate into a different look at roses ...

Alexandra..a beautiful take..using loaded knive to do rose buds... a challenge to be sure but you did a nice job of it.. I like the faint echos in the background of the roses...

Thanks so much Gary! I've been wanting to do this for a while. Now on to the leaves....they are giving me a world of trouble.

I am so pleased you liked it Mike, thank you dear friend.

  10. Really nice - looks almost like Roses seen through frosted glass.
