    Artrage wont open painting.....and wont resize.....

    Hi,

    I did a test picture in Artrage last night, saved it fine.

    Went to open it today and i got this error message:

    ''An error occured in attempting to read/write data from/to a file stream

    File = untitled layer = 0''

    No2

    It wont resize to a decent printout size.

    ''Artrage could not complete requested operation. it may not have enoughmemory to do so'' et etc.

    Any ideas? this is giving me a headache....

    If the painting that won't open is below about 8Mb or so could you zip it and email it to support@artrage.com so we can take a look at it? We might be able to work out why it won't open. Please include some information in the email as to which version of ArtRage you're using, what the size of the canvas was, and what you were doing before saving.

    Regarding resizing: What size are you trying to expand the painting to?

    Matt, thank you, will do.

    OK, if I want to do a painting, then send it to a printer to put it on canvas at about, say, 40x30 inches, how would i have to set the size? assuming this is possible?

    You can set the size in print dimensions when you create the painting or by resizing after it is complete. Wherever you set the size of the painting you'll see a Screen Size / Print Size selector. Selecting Print Size allows you to set the dimensions that the painting will be when printed. Make sure you know the target DPI of the print device before creating the image.

    A 40 x 30 image would be very large at most print DPI sizes. For example, 300DPI at 40 images = 12000 pixels wide which is almost certainly too large for the computer to handle. You may need to create the image at a smaller size and scale it up later.
