    Image import issues

I am having a bit of a problem with importing. Images seems to be put to landscape/portrait at random (but mostly another way than I want it). I am unable control the rotation. This relates to both the tracing function and the import to layer function.

    Anyone having similar issues?

I am using the iPhone ArtRage 1.0.1 version on an iPod touch running iOS5.

Could you let me know the dimensions of the image being imported? Generally, when you import as a tracing image on the iPhone the image is imported to the portrait canvas in 'vertical' orientation, so landscape images will be arranged horizontally across the screen.

Well. Dimensions are kind of hidden from me on the iPod camera roll (the flower thing).

But I have created two images using another iPhone software. One is 320 x 480 - the other is 480 x 320. Included.

I have also included a screendump showing how the latter actually shows up rotated (correct) in the camera roll.

If I import the 480 x 320 version, ArtRage ignores the rotation. What I do is press + in Gallery. Press Import from Photos... and then select 480x320 from Saved Photos. Now it shows up like the last screendump.

The good news: I was wrong about the Trace. That actually does work correctly.

It looks like the image is being rotated on import to best fit its size to the screen. The camera roll will always show you the image oriented to the current display orientation, while ArtRage will attempt to make the best use of space on the screen.
