    Been working on this one on and off for months. Decided today to give it oner more session and call it quits. Al

    WOW... really nice one Al... love the composition with multiple figure.. not easy to get a pleasing arrangement but you have done it here. the figures give you multiple interesing focal and alternative focal points. I really like something I saw first in the Night Flight.. that is using the smooth ink pen to make colorful sharp edges. that with your modeling of colors work really well .. this is definitely one of your best.. IMHO....

    Le Jazz Hot cha cha, Al. . . Nice stylizations of the heads. They're handled differently so they carry their own personalities, not to mention tone.

    Mastery of colors and of composition as well!
    Notwithstanding the time lapse of well over a century You reminded me of Cèzanne, certainly not for the specific painting style, but for much of the rest, colors, composition, people playing ... the biggest difference is that for Cèzanne it was a duet (or a trio with an onlooker, in a less famous painting) and they were playing cards rather than instruments.
