    Egret House

Another "Find" on one of my walks. This is an old abandoned place that backs up to the wetlands near the river. I think The Egret is one that lives nearby in a backwater tidepool. 6 layers. Working size was appx 14x18 at 200 ppi.

I'm glad he is fishing there, and not in my pond.
    Well done

Well done Skylar. The red flowers really adds a lot to this tropical painting.

Delightful indeed. Just don't let him come to my pond.

Cool composition Skylar. Love the framing.

That combination between Nature and man's footprint in that abandoned house with the broken windows puts a really neat spin to this painting of the bird. I have been in similar situations in which there were abandoned buildings and they carry a very potent mood.

It's as if the voices still remain while Nature lapses into the forest primeval. Employing the rectangles is a very cool device. Bravo!

Skylar... excellent work.. I really love these images gleaned from your walks.. they are glimpses of a foreign and exotic space but also stand as snapshot comments on the beauty around us... all painted with your great sense of design and color.

Nice one Skylar. I, too, love the way the painting is framed.
