    Finished. Ipad

I still have to learn how to do eyelashes so they don't look false.

Looking good, great job on the hair, it looks so real along with the baby complexion.

It's an absolutely stunning and beautiful portrait. like you say...paint what you sort of see and not worry about delineating each individual lash.
They do look fine to me though and overall it's a beautiful portrait.

make sure you preserve the ball shape of the eyeball. and the iris as the perfect circle lens that sits on that ball. if you think of it as a ball it will help you shape the whites (gray area) of the eye.

The irises and pupils should track together with each other perfectly focused on some distant thing.

for the eyelashes try a few small dots of a blond color in the lashes parallel to the eye shape and about a third of the way up the imagined lashes to give the illusion of light hitting the lashes.

Thank you screen painter for giving me those great tips.
On the ipad i am limited on tool size and tools so i had to cheat for the eyes by doing them on a separate layer. I using the graphics pen at large size for the eyeball I then made the pen smaller for the iris and smaller still for the pupil I then duplicated it to make the pair. The next layer I started on the features.

    Finally finished.

I think this is finished now. I have shaped the eyes better removed the dark shadow on the right cheek just under the eye.

It turned out great, I said I was finished the last one of Ollie about 18 times, and kept going back. I think the eyelashes turned out. I look for pics with hats to avoid the fine baby hair, you have done a great job!

Thank you Margi, I still think I have missed something but it's time to say it is finally finished all I have to do now is try and print it off on canvas.
