Portrait Of Cornelis Van Der Geest

I'm sorry for not being very active in the forum. I hope everyone is well.

Portrait Of Cornelis Van Der Geest

    By Anthony Van Dyck
Van Dyck was born in Antwerp. A precocious artist, his first independent works date from 1615-16, when he would have been about 17. Van Dyck was the most important Flemish painter of the 17th century after Rubens, whose works influenced the young Van Dyck. He also studied and was profoundly influenced by the work of Italian artists, above all, Titian.

The main figure and some details. Brush and Knife work, one layer... free drawing ...free painting.

    All the best

Another fantastic painting Oriane! Love this style you have been doing! It's realism with a touch of Van Gogh! Great history as well. Bravo!

Unfortunately I cannot see this type of attachment here, so I'll have to come back on my home PC or laptop. Anyway You chose a really great artist and both the portrait and the subjet he painted are most impressive!
I'm sure Your interpretation added Your personal art and got a wonderful artpiece out of it.
