    Grandma's Letter

This is an example of something you can do Digitally that Cannot be done traditionally. I was painting this with another idea for the bkg. I had almost finished the bkg, when I thought of the Farmhouse window painting I did some time ago. I Cleared the layer, and imported the painting to the layer, then diffused it with the knife tool, and reduced its opacity to 90%.
I think it turned out rather well.

Very nice! I love the depth and the sense of space; well done!

The painting made me stare at it for several minutes. I didn't even notice you put the two separate paintings below.

Looking at the painting without the background anyone could see it would have been a great painting, but with the farmhouse window background, it sets the painting in a location and/or in a time in history. It brings out much more of an emotional response.

Scribb- Thanks so much! This was kinda rushed, but it was an experiment.
Fugu- Thank you. Yes, that combo matched up perfectly. I did nothing to adjust the combo, it just fit together.

Jean- Thanks. Yes, this is the second time I have "recycled" an image. Sure saves all the duplication...

Skylar...great painting and image and the farmhouse window really makes this real!....what a great serendipity......think that this was the image that wanted to be and you went two different routes and it came together!...

Skylar great experiment, love the way you did this, I have just finished one where I used an old car from a previous painting to add it to a forest scene
