    Golden ratio

    Golden ratio

The golden rectangle and the golden spiral have been used throughout history for art and architecture. You can now make your own golden ratio grids.

Save the three images below and follow the instructions to create your own golden ratio grids.

    Golden Spiral (clockwise)

Size: 16.4 KB

    Golden Spiral (counter clockwise)

Size: 8.8 KB

    ========

    Launch ArtRage

    Click File>Import Image File

Select one of the golden ratio files from above.

Click on the Selection tool or Click on Tools>Select Tool>Selection

    Select Magic Wand

    Select Mode = Replace

Click a section of the white area

Press the Delete key or click Edit>Clear

Do this for all the white space. You should see something like the image below.

    Name: Make transparent.jpg

Size: 51.5 KB

    Click File>Save Painting

Give the painting a nice name

Now when you want to use the golden ratio girds, do the following.

Click File>Import Image File to Layer

Select the golden ratio painting you just saved

The golden ratio file will be on a separate layer. Make sure you don't paint on that layer.

The layer can be rotated and scaled, but don't stretch them. That would change the golden ratio.
