    Another interesting one from you June.
    With the key light coming in from the lower right there, it almost makes it up-lit. Not something you generally see so much of in wildlife portraits.
    I wonder what it would look like with a darker graduated background following the direction of that key light
    And so perhaps giving the top of the head and back of the neck more of a lost edge...

    The finishing touches are quite nice. The structure is pretty off. There may be a lesson in that for ya about what makes a painting work. It's like a floor routine for a gymnast who misses a few moves but lands it well in the end. One doesn't make up for the other.

    You must get your structure right if you're doing realism. This one could have been super and there are things you doubtless found worked great. Take those good things into the next painting. . . but before you have all that fun with fur and lighting -- please -- get the structure working.
