Thread: 25 Essential Expressions Exercise Challenge

    25 Essential Expressions Exercise Challenge

Something I found whilst lurking on the internet. Thought that it might make for an interesting project.

The idea is to create a consistent character across 25 expressions.

What kinda stuff can you come up with?

I've actually seen this one done on Deviant Art a few times, and it's pretty cool, and well worth seeing the different ways different people presume to create the emotion. Drawing it is, of course, educational, but I actually found the comparison of different versions just as, if not more, interesting and helpful.

    Very cool.... !!

Soon as I finish mine up, I will post it. I spent the whole evening looking at how people do this particular exercise. It really is a neat way to practice.

I even saw that someone used a squishy cube and did expressions for it. There's a lot of talented folks out there in the world.

That is really very cool. Very expressive in each one. I would know exactly what they were with or without the word prompts.

    Love it!

Awesome Gaeton, great character... you should talk to bobbyray and do an artrage comic strip in the ARTrageous mag

The 'rage' one would make a great avatar on the forum

    Thanks Juz,
I actually just put together an animated avy with most of them. Not sure I'll keep it on long, though. Animated avatars can be distracting, after all (especially when they're making faces at you, lol).
