    Unhappy Corrupted ptg file

I did a painting on ArtRage and saved it. My Laptop accidentally shut down. I hadn't closed the artrage painting before this happened. When I tried opening the painting again, I get the message that the file is damaged and artrage cannot open it. A blank canvas is displayed. I really have no idea what to do. I am a beginner and I can draw the painting again. But I'd really love to be able to get this file back. Is there a way to recover this?

    Tech Details:
    ArtRage 3.0.7 Studio Pro
    Windows Vista Home Basic
    Wacom Bamboo Fun Tablet

If a save is interrupted by loss of power / shutdown, it will tend to result in a damaged file as the save is incomplete. You can send the damaged ptg file to me directly at and we can take a look at it here to see whether there's any recoverable data.

ArtRage attempts to save a recovery file in the event of a crash ( while this won't help with power failure ), so it may also be worthwhile checking to see if this exists and can be loaded. To locate arrestart.ptg if it exists:

Run 'appdata' ( windows key + r to run )
    Open 'roaming'
    Open 'Ambient Design'
    Open 'ArtRage 3'
If ARRestart.ptg exists, copy it to your desktop, then attempt to open it.
