Is possible to create Pixel Art?

Hi, i'm trying to check if ArtRage (any version) is able to create pixel art.

What i mean with pixel-art...is there any tool/brush to work at 1x1 pixel of solid color?

If there is a way please i will appreciate a link/tutorial of how (if there is any).

    Really thx for reading

Hi iloveui, welcome to the ArtRage forums.

In short, no. At least, not in the manner you'd expect to be able to.

The reason being, ArtRage is a program designed to mimic the more traditional styles of Art, like Oil/Acrylic painting, Chalk, Watercolors, etc. Since pixel art came about as a result of computers, it really isn't a focus for the program, which means there isn't currently a way to work pixel by pixel. Whether we will see something implemented for this style of work in the future will likely depend mainly on user support for such a feature. But as I said, it's not really they type of art most people expect from this particular program.

That said... One could work pixel by pixel using the Ink Pen tool with the Antiallias edge feature turned off (AR Studio Pro), but it wouldn't be very practical. The program would also still apply a type of blur on the pixel edges.

Just to follow up to my previous post, about using the Ink Pen to work on a pixel by pixel basis. I recreated a couple of the sprites on the sprite sheet below, using the Ink Pen tool (Antiallias edge: off, Square Head: on). So I guess saying "no" isn't really true, but it is still kind of impractical, because even zoomed in at 800%, the pixels are very tiny. But not impossible.

Here's my tests. One has the background set to appear transparent, while the other is set to magenta (which I think is pretty common for sprites). I changed the color of the turtles shell, and the dinosaur, to show that they aren't just a copy/paste from the sprite sheet below (although it's hard to see the color difference with the dinosaur, unless it's right next to the original):

Here's the Sprite sheet I used as a reference:

Artrage is indeed quite the tool to do the very opposite thing of pixel-art.

But you can use a spreadsheet to create pixel-art. Open Office is free.
