    Crooked River Watercolor

After seeing Peter taking on the AR3 watercolor challenge I decided to try. This is the river near my house where I walk my dog along its banks...hope you enjoy it.

So pretty! I love the loose feel the watercolours gave to this.

AT-TA - thanks for viewing, i have painted landscaped for many years but occasionally and more frequently as of late gotten into more non representational works , but it feels good sometimes to drop back to old ways.

barnburner, muir, and waheed I am glad you find this work interesting and like it.

Noogins - Peter Pickney did a watercolor called "WC Fields" and in it he said he found doing watercolors in AR3 difficult to control... so I took that as a personal challenge to try it out. Peter is right they are a bit difficult to control and get the effect you want.

    BRAVO!!!!!!!

Wow, how cool is this, you lucky dog. . . er, your dog is lucky. What a place to go for walks. I can just see him/her sniffing up everything, tail wagging. . .

It's a fine painting, I must say. You seem to have a real knack for this medium. You have achieved a spontaneity that is one of the directions watercolor has proven itself very effective.

And what makes it all the more on target is the tooth of the paper and the saturation. Nice variety of marks as well.

    Nailed it!

Gotta agree with D Akey! What a relaxing place to stroll--and you´ve captured it very well!
