    My second painting

Because my first didn't turn out too well. I'm a beginner. I think the hair looks a little funny. I haven't yet mastered the hair brush.

Like the style of this Sad Hatter. I agree the hair could be better. Personally I wouldn't use a hair-brush for a portrait. Especially since the rest of the painting is quite er.. painterly, the hair maybe takes away from that.

An intriguing picture too! Keep it coming!

This is a very good and remarkable painting nonetheless.
It also talks quite clearly of the fight You had with the hair brush!
    A warm welcome!

    Hatter

Like Hammers I find your piece stark, compelling, satiric, whimsical, mocking pathos. As to the hair, move on. It contributes to that enormous forehead and unkempt appearance of this character who seems to have no bounds.

Paint it and let it go. No where else in your work are you following a specific style. Your making your own. To me it is kind of like following your first impression in a test.

I wonder about those small frail hands adjusting his tie, his bloody nose and his black eye. One is left to wonder, and I love it.

I like the hair. Thought it really gave it that something extra and I like the textures and lighting created. Like the whole art piece. Beautiful job on the pummeled eye. Exceptional stuff.
