    alien sky

    =) saw a neat video and liked an image in it... able to borrow image and trace.. ... open to suggestions

    one suggestion would be to put that moon on a separate layer and then turn down the layer opacity to make it fade out.
    for a gradient sky lay down some colors in horizontal sections. say the blue next to a teal blue and the beige orange then go to edit>blur layer and turn it into a gradient sky. may take some experimenting.

    you really picked a complex image to work on.

    here's a rough idea of how to do a similar background with that technique.
    I laid out some colors and used the edit>blur feature. also if necessary add other layers of color and blur to get the desired gradient sky you want.
    I just did it rather quickly to illustrate what I mean.
