Terribly upset and feel more sorry for the victims' families!

Christchurch was still recovering from a large earthquake in September last year. This second large quake has been much more destructive - although it was a smaller magnitude quake it was much closer to the surface and closer to the city. Many buildings were already weakened from the September quake and have collapsed this time.

Thank you for your thoughts. Auckland didn't feel the quake, but we will all feel its impact.
