this piece packs a heavy punch. it seems like there is a feeling in the air that we are headed for some awful things. this is very hard to look at seeing those bodies floating in and hard to picture an act like communion juxtaposed with that image since communion is supposed to be the act of remembering the health and forgiveness won by the cross.
it is very foreboding, but it makes the viewer think.

Well done Tony. Echoing Albert, lot's to think about and contemplate.

Tony really to draw attention this painting. Drama and art. For some reason reminded me of Jim Jones. Congratulations.

Interesting. Those bodies have all been cleared and frisked. Hands above the head, shirt and pant legs up, feet crossed, all signs that someone has already come through here.

What's ARSP? Can't really say much about the subject until I get that bit of info.

The title talks about the mass/crucifixion and the foreground body holds that position of being crucified. But I'm not sure if it is referencing an incident like boat refugees didn't make it? Or is it about people trying to walk on water drowning, or the church not feeding people, or people dying spiritually because they haven't reached out to the food, or some people died in a sacrifice, or the 'lighthouse' of the communion image couldn't be seen and so sailors dashed upon the rocks in a storm?

Is this political or religious or economic? Or is it deliberately ambiguous seeking to get people to project whatever they get from it?

Anyway, the image is loaded with powerful things that draw out speculation. Hard not to be drawn in when one sees something so clearly trying to make a statement.

    Nice paint work.
