    Gladiator's Triumph

I'm in the middle of exploring Ancient Roman Empire, so there will be more images along this line.
    Impressionism, 2 layers, oils, knife.

Fabulous! Love the angle as it gives the warrior so much power.

I apparently didn't submit my enthusiastic comment thereabout after previewing my reply yesterday night.
In few words, it fully and credibly expresses all the triumph excitement, violence and pathos of this grace strike by the winning gladiator executing the loser! Great!
I just hope this is not a paradigmatic image for unduly fierce and immoral competion too often pursued by too many people now ..
    Panta rei (everything flows)!

MacPix - Thank you! That foreshortening of the face takes a bit of sketching to get right.
Caesar - Your words are wonderful. I.too, hope this is not a harbinger of things to come (Again), tho our society is beginning too coarsened once more.
Sandy - Thank you so much. As usual, I have started down another new path. I don't know yet where it will go!

  6. I love the energy radiating from this image, very cool. He reminds me of Kratos from the God of War series - not in his look, but in his posture and emotion.

Harle - That's a very cool comparison. Thanks!
Pat - Thank you. That pose was to evoke the viewpoint of the attacked. It apparently conveys the message.
BB - Thanks so much! I find that when I want to portray action, a loose spontaneous quality really works.
