    Hello Mr Ploos.

I particularly like the one you said looked like Gauguin. The lines are sure and show a combination of artistic and descriptive qualities. Crisp form.

Nice to hear you're back on the bus. Bet you had to brush the raindrops off your sketch pad.

So our friend Pat is back. Nice that, eh?

Brilliant, Mr Ploos. Really terrific. Going straight to paint as you did it is not so far from drawing as could be a quibble. All the drawing work you have done has created mark making tools. Only thing may be that you have worked with larger tips on your brush or pen nib etc. So that adds a tonal consciousness to linear sensibility.

I think of Van Gogh a little bit, as how he seemed to keep his color work sorta linear. I think that was because he was very interested in Japanese prints, as were many of the more cutting edge artists of the time.

Anyway, you have nailed a personality in this one. There's depth behind his eyes/countenance, which is a neat trick to pull off. I like the outside stylization to his hair. The large graphic form of it lends a certain graphic arts mode of interpretation, although you also dip into traditional dimensionality as well. Nice combination. Love the colors too.

I'll fit this look with what was going on around the turn of the last century. Beards and styles of clothes also add to that notion.

Ms Coops made an excellent recommendation. Glad you did it. Looks awesome.

    Go Man Go!!!!!!!
