    Question First bird

    Completely open to any help, ! I want to improve my birds realism....suggestions?

    It looks so fatty and cute! I like it!
    As for realistic rendering, I'm almost sure there's some tutorial on feathered surface or so (there's also one on a signle feather painting by Sandra), but the brush and knife strokes directions with an appropriate mix of colors and tones should be crucial anyway.
    Make a little excercise. Obviously on a round body You always have to consider tones on the enlightened parts (including highlights) and the shaded ones.

    In addition to what Cesare said you could also use the pencil tool on 82% pressure. Also the air brush and palette knife add some nice effects to a feathered look.
