Thank You very much, dear ATP!
I found it! This masterpiece really humbles my poor Christ image!
A Velasquez painting whose style looks still much influenced by the great impressions he got when he lived in Naples and discovered Caravaggio's innovative, dramatic paintings based on a non-academic and extreme realism for his powerful scenes; Caravaggio, in a certain sense, conceived the rules for the most impressive movie scenes. Many Spanish painters followed that track too especially for painting beggars, dwarves, miserable kids and old or disabled people.

Dear ATPlus, I didn't find an official explanation on what You asked, but I found I larger image and made some considerations.
First, as You can see there are all around the tools of Jesus Christ supplice during the Passion, to show how complete and deep to the ultimate humiliation and sacrifice His love was and is for us. You may notice, on this larger copy, that what You ask for is a narrow light beam going from His aureola, the light ring around His head and the heart of the kid taken by his/ her own custodian angel to see how moving Jesus love showed to be.
I therefore guessed that the light crown of Jesus represents His special the one of Divine Love and on the deepest of our hearts. From that, one ray or beam of flows to each of us and we should only accept to reflect it back to Him. Probably the kid did it, looking at the pose, thus Jesus seems almost pleased notwithstanding his wounds and pains that what He did was not useless in this case.
