    Alternatives to Ipad

I've been waiting patiently (but for farrr too long) for some sort of ipad/tablet pc alternative that works much in the same way as as Wacom intuos pen tablet.

As of yet, I've not come across anything that suits my needs, or at least thrills me as much as the ipad has to Apple fans.

So i thought, I'd now and again post any new tech I come across that could be what I've (you've) been waiting for.

    So for staters:

Hitachi has achieved the unthinkable in bringing together the high precision and input flexibility of resistive touchscreens with the finger friendliness of capacitive panels.. http://www.engadget.com/2010/11/16/h...epting-stylus/

    Nintendo DS, of course.

You need to have a NDS first (costs you around 60 GBP). Then by a R4 card and a TF card (cost you around 25 GBP), then download Colors! into your TF card so you can use this painting grogram on DS. This, I think, is the cheapest way to do digital painting. It would also record your painting process!

I know an artist here could use it very well.

The Asus Eee Note is coming in a few months, it uses a Wacom pen. Itís in grey scale but it looks like a great sketch and go alternative to pencil and paper. The screen shot makes it look good.

ASUS details its EP121 tablet in this latest teaser video

...It also has HDMI out, at least one USB port, a webcam and it looks like both stylus or finger can control the display....

    ASUS Eee Slate EP121

....Unlike ASUS' trio of Android tablets, the EP121 is all about Windows 7, and oh does it have the guts to run it smoothly -- it's powered by a Core i5-470M processor, packs 2 to 4GB of RAM, and a 64GB SSD. It sure has the internal muscle to compete, but it also has a high-resolution (1280 x 800) 12.1-inch IPS capacitive display with a Wacom digitizer.....
