    Playing With Textures...

    Hi All,

This is my first gallery post using ArtRage Pro. I have just started learning Painting Abstracts by Rolina van Vliet and this is my first offering completed entirely in ArtRage. Absolutely love this program, great job by the Ragers.

Just used the base layer, no other layers used. Only used preset brushes.

Step 1: Roller brush to block out black and white base
Step 2: Used the Oil Brush to block out coloured shapes
Step 3: Used the Glitter tool to detail those blocked out colours
Step 4: Smudged and Blended those colours using the Palette Knife tool
Step 5: Smeared colours at 1% to give the illusion of a knife edge
Step 6: Added additional texture using the Pencil and the Crayon

    Hope you like it.

that is one beautiful abstract! I don't think it is all that easy to make a really decent abstract. This is one I wish I had done. Really great stuff. Thanks for sharing your technique on this also. It really is some gorgeous abstract painting! It reminds me of the background for the artrage tools on the ambient home page. The colors are quite delicious. Usually I'm not attracted to primary colors, but you really pulled it off with the use of the black and other colors and you made it work here. I also like that technique of setting the knife to 1% and dragging those threads of paint out. Welcome to the forum also.

Gorgeous, as it was already said here: love the colors, how they kind of reflect in each other.... and welcome in AR.

If I had this 5 ft by 6 feet on my living room wall I'd watch it at night instead of the TV

    Beautiful colors and textures.

    Welcome!
