    Stickers are good if you want to do a lot of the same thing in a short space of time. So if you wanted to do a large forest in the background (like this picture) - stickers would be what to do it with.

    Whereas stencils can be used for the same purpose, I find that they are better for objects that are closer to the viewer because you can work on different colours and details within the stencil.

    In the end, it's just a matter of personal preference since stencils and stickers can be fairly interchangeable.
