    Hymn for New Orleans

Some of you may know that I was in New Orleans a month or so ago. While I was there I was impressed by

    1. How the city is fighting back, but still struggling with the Katrina damage
    2. The color and history of the French Quarter
    3. The quality of the musicians playing in the clubs and on the street

I took a lot of photos, and I've had some ideas for a series of paintings develop from the visit. This is the first attempt at one of them. (The series is called "Angles over New Orleans." All of the images relate to angels watching over musicians

What an excellent artpiece, dear Al! You really conveyed so much of Your feeling and thought and transposed them into pure art on this painting!

    Hi,

We were around N.O. for 16 years, where I started in Computer Science field with NASA. That places is full of musical talents.

We went back there again just this June, so glad to see some businesses are picked up and growing again after Katrina. And there are jobs there, especially in Computer Science.

This painting is so good, I almost felt homesick looking at it, well done.
