    Woman with a Lei - Portrait # 5

    Hi,

    I am starting this week with a portrait - my # 5.

Use reference picture and a Hawaiian lei picture. When I looked at the picture of the Hawaiian lei, I had to say "Opps". The Hawaiian leis are made of plumaria flowers but the flowers are cautioned by the old Thai's belief not to be planted in housing area, because it is considered "sad" influence. The belief has the influence of Chinese Feng Shui - the laws of nature of environment.

So I changed the lei flowers to just flowers, not a particular one. Use oil, knif and airbrush.

Please feel free to give me comments and advice.

A true beauty, both the painting and the lady. I think, whatever Feng Shui established, that she's quite favourable in a domestic environment too....

Very nicely done! I like the different textures you've painted onto this, and the colors are beautiful. Having the woman looking right at us really makes the painting pop.
