Thread: Barn at Twilight

    Barn at Twilight

Here is another one that is going to be a three part picture (I have a frame that is 8" tall and 16" wide with 3 5x7 openings). My technique, for the most part, consists of using the tube of oil and placing the basic colors where they belong and then following with the palette knife and blending. For the sky, I used a dry brush after that to make it smooth. If there is any interest, on the next one I do, I may show a few steps in the process. It is really pretty easy, just very monotonous and time consuming.

Beautiful. It looks so photographic. Yes, I would be interested to see how you do it. I think it would make a great tutorial actually. The sky is amazing.

    Very beautiful image and style!
    Panta rei (everything flows)!

  4. Good job on the colour blending in the sky, it creates a nice calm feeling in the piece...

My only critism is that I feel that the barn should be darker and more cast in shadow because of the angle of the sun and also the purpley light would affect the colour of the barn subtly.

    Other than that, nice art.
