    Marychka...the orphan girl.

Inspired by a ballad about the orphan Marychka, who supported five siblings, when her parents died in a coalmine. She collected the woods in the nearby forrest, got cought one day and killed herself.

Sad story, beautiful brushstrokes, lovely color, wonderful air perspective from mountains to foreground. Excellent job.

The story is sad, but unfortunately quite frequent in the old times, like a melancholic tale or novel with a noble character and a tragic end.
This painting is, nonetheless, pure visual poetry!
