    Lightbulb Night storm

I call this "Thief in the night." It's a tornado by night, and a full moon. Most tornados start on the open seas, which this one appears to be. This is done in AR 2.5. one layer. The ocean is created with the bark stencil, turned, so that the lines are straight across the canvas. How did I achieve this? When on a white canvas, and you want your water to display highlights in the waves, just paint a light color of paint of your choice on the canvas, then place the bark stencil with the lines going across, and paint over with a darker color.
Anyway, I hope you like it

Very nice job of capturing the power of these storms.
    Great job on the water.

I just posted a painting "Lost at Sea", in which I used a variation of your idea for the water. Thanks much for sharing!

Great water tip and a very interesting painting. Here in the mid-west we get many Tornadoes that start on land. Here in Iowa we had 90 of them on a weekend! No ocean in site

Thanks jibes, only some tornados start in the sea, it just depends. In Florida, I've seen them form above the ocean, and on land, it all depends. It's just wind, some vapors in the air, and God's great power. lol I think maybe it's God trying to get our attention. Thank you for commenting

What an impressive depiction of a tornado at night, dear Evart! The sea is unbelievably good too!
