It's more to do with the skill of the artist and not the medium or application...

Hanzz a regular poster here is one of the best anywhere on caricatures... Just look at his images he posts here to give you ideas on how caricatures are created...

Does anyone know if Hanzz has a tutorial on creating his funny faces?

These might help. Hanzz has made a tutorial on creating a cartoon face here:

    http://www.artrage.com/artragetutorials.html

Also, you can get an overview of how he did one of his caricatures here:

I'm afraid gimmicks from software, like the liquify in Photoshop, anmanieSMP software and the likes, make for a distortion of the face. They don't give a caricature.
A caricature is to be created starting from scratch, with a good sketch.
A digital distirtion gives it away at first view and is a poor artistic effort.

Just say: "Rage It", because we already know it's art.

Talking how to do caricatures in artrage

    Hi,

Agree the tutorials in artrage are extremely good and have plenty of detail. I've been a cartoonist for many years but caricature is taking cartoons to the next level. It takes lots' of patience to understand the relationship in features and how to define character through exagerration without causing upset to the subject.
A good workbook to practice with, bringing you up from scratch imho isThe Mad Art of Caricature by Tom Richmond [MAD Artist]
Main thing is have fun doing it. I'm only doing line drawing using the pencil tool at the moment but ARTRAGE is definitely the most intuitive tool for this that I've found to date.

    Enjoy!
