Locking to the Side of the Stencils

New to the forums. I did a search and did not find an answer to this so if this is a repeat quest - forgive me and send me to the answer.

Is there a way to lock the pen/brush/etc to the edge of a stencil (such as a French curve or circle) to create a smooth curve/line?

My hand is not steady. I do use a pen tablet, but I have a small tremor and my lines/curves end up extremely "rough."

Right click on the stencil en choose ruler or guide mode

I should have stated - I work on an iMac and am using ArtRage Studio 3.0.7.

Right clicking did not work.

Is the guide option only available in AR Professional?

Make sure you've got right-clicking enabled in your mouse preferences. If you can't right-click, control-click on the stencil. In ruler or guide mode your pencil should ride along the stencil.
