Skylar, this is super! Donīt know how I missed it. Itīs a theme and a region that I love (although this is far more attractive than the current day city of the same name).
The only problem with humor is that no one takes it seriously.

ArtGeek, Darryl - The sky was the main thing I wanted to create. The mission came after. Thanks!

Scott - When I was 12, we moved to Alamogordo from Arkansas. (My folks had something to do with Top secret Gov. stuff) They went from a Biological warfare base in Pine Bluff to White sands Missle Range. We lived in Alamogordo for a few years before moving up into the beautiful town of Ruidoso. I always was so impressed with these spectacular desert sunsets.

I live in SE New Mexico about 100 miles from both Ruidoso and Alamogordo, and you have really captured the feel of New Mexico in your beautiful painting. We also have many deserted mission churches in the area. The NM sky has the most incredible colors. The NM mood comes through. You are such a talented painter.

Delighted that this came round again. It's well worth a second look. Or third. Or fourth. . .

Wonderful mood and palette here LSB. I too lived in Alamagordo in the mid 70s near the end of my Army stint. Stationed at White Sands but attached to Holliman AFB. Drove across the white sands every morning to my communications station. It's an eerily silent place befitting it's history as the first A-bomb test site.
