Wacom Ring support for the Positioner Canva

    Hi !

The latest Wacom tablets (like Intuos4) have a ring wich can be associated to such functions as "zoom", "pen size", "rotation",...
In Photoshop and Painter, the ring can be used to rotate the paint and it would be very helpfull that it become possible too in Artrage.
So do you plan, on the next upgrades, to add the capability of associate it to the Positioner Canva ?

    Thx !

I think for that to work would require removing the Pan and Rotation
from the Canvas Positioner, so I don't know from a programming
perspective how hard that would be. It would be nice however to
have the canvas rotation linked to the Touch Ring.

Yes this would be a very cool function !
Could we have the advice of an Artrage programmer about the possibility of developping this ?
    Thx !

On my mac, I can do the rotation with Command F13 and Command F14. I simply configured my Touch Ring to do the rotations with these shortcuts when I am using Artrage.

If you are using windows, I imagine the shortcuts are CTRL F13 and CTRL F14.

    Hi CataTon !

Thanx for the tip but on pc there are no F13 and F14. It only goes to F12.
Where did you found in Artrage the keys assigned to rotation ?

    Thx !

I don't know, I got my intuos 4 since 3 days (after 10 years with an intuos 1...). I configure and configure again all those buttons and, apparently, command F13 and command F14 are the default keys in the wacom driver for mac to do the rotation with the touch ring.
They are talking about F13 and F14 here :

It doesn't work for WinXP, I just tried. Cmd-F13, Cmd-F14 would correspond to Cntrl-Shift-F1, Cntrl-Shift-F2. you would have to have unnaturally long fingers to get that combination by hand.

    PS

I just found that Spacebar-Alt-Left Mouse drag does rotate the canvas. One caveat though, press Spacebar first then Alt or you get the window options pull down. Be careful though because you can rotate the panels if you touch them. Alt-D resets rotation and D resets all canvas properties.

Yes vapsman88 ! Space + Alt + Left Mouse works for me too.
But did you manage to assign it to the ring ?
I'm not sure it's possible because of the "left click + moving"
So, I think it should work if the developpers add the shortcut: "Space + Alt + Arrows"
