Awesome!! I love this for a number of reasons

    1. The sheer virtuosity you have in executing all the details while maintaining the unity of the whole

    2. The way you use the digital tools is so true to a traditional painting approach.

    3. It shows your drawing chops as the foundation of everything that you do.

    4. It is very different from my own methods and teaches me so much

    5. The final result is (as always) a thrill to see.

I'm speechless in front of this beauty, especially considering how and how long (rather short) You painted it!

Oh, my God! Guys, Hold up! I didn't do this in 3 min, I did it in 30 min. I left off the "0". Geeze, I wish I was that good!

THANKS for posting this! Very instructive. But can you please elaborate on the tools and medium you used? Clearly, it's oil, and you used a brush, but what settings did you use? Canvas? Please enlighten me (and the others) so we know how you managed to get the particular "look" you did with your (amazing) painting. Please explain your process in words; that'd help a lot.

Hi Omni - The canvas was set Essential, 25% Rough, 15% grain, and a soft green color, no "Lighted grain". The drawining (Scribble) was a pen setting, I think 10, The large blocks of color were from 50-100% brush (Round, 25-50% load, 15% thinner, 100% pressure. Then smaller strokes - 25-50% brush. After all the large(& Larger) blocks of color, I set the brush at 100%, 25% load, 50% thinner for an over-all wash - Stippling over everything. Then the brush went back to my basic setting of 35% load, 15% thinner for lines and such. The Dominant texture is achieved by Dabbing the brush, rather than strokes, then the "Leaf look is a small setting which IS in a random brushstroking pattern. Over all goes detail - limbs, highlights and such - all done with the brush set small, instant dry & clean ON. The water effect is done with Middle setting (Soft) Knife set small, 50% smudge, 100% pressure. I do things so quickly that I don't pay close attention to all the settings I change, but I hope this helps.
By the way, I painted the whole thing with just the Basic Oil brush only - no imported, or effects brushes.
