Smile New member and first painting

It's been along time since I've done any drawing. I used to draw a lot of cartoon characters (not my own) in my younger days, but the hobby just kinda got put aside. I decided after finding some of my old art booklets that it was time to take it back up. I've always wanted to do landscapes and after finding out about Artrage and seeing some of the work here I knew I may have just found a new home...lol

Well this is my first landscape. I know I have a long way to go, but I thought I would post it anyway since I'm saying hello.

Welcome to the forums Taborn. You're off to a great start. I love the way you've done the water and bushes/hedges.

Thank you all for the great compliments. It did seem a little bright to me also EB. I'm not sure I really meant for it to be so bright, but it was just the way I saw it as I was painting. I wasn't using a reference of any sort while I was working on it as the painting was more just a test of the different techniques I have been reading about on the forums. I really wanted to see if I could pull off the water effect and the sky. I realize the hedges wouldn't reflect quite the way I have them since they are farther back in the background, but overall I am happy with it and I can see where I need to improve. This is my first attempt at digital art and I really love Artrage, its a great piece of software.

Welcome to the forum! You have done a fine job with your first attempt. Wish mine had been that good.

    Looking forward to seeing more.
