Love the play between color blended on the canvas and strokes of pure color blended in the eye. This mix of your smooth precision and lively brush work really sings!

Nice one Pete. Tricky time of day, but you got below the sky just great. Good use of color. I think perhaps in the sky you may have slightly over-mixed your colors because they lack that airy vibrance I would have anticipated for such a scene. I could well be wrong and it could actually look this way in a photo, but as an artist you have the luxury to amplify, as you have clearly done in others of your paintings.

The sky flattens out a bit too much, which is normal when there aren't clouds. Being that there are I would indicate the depth a little. One only knows what works by trying it, but different parts/altitudes of the sky would be hit by light differently as the sun dips further behind the earth and through the atmosphere. . . in this case off to the right of the picture. It's a tough angle. But the overall color mixing in the land is fantastic.

Anyway, overall you have a gem, which is why I mention that, for what it's worth.

Great painting you've been continuing to demonstrate. It's very fun watching your creativity soar.
