    Blue pitcher

The pitcher goes often to the well, but is broken at last.

Nice work with color and tone. Were I doing it, I would consider the edge a little more and not have so many similar marks going outside the shape of the pitcher. I think it would perhaps serve the picture to have some fuzzy marks, which will still say drawing, while a few sharper, more accurate edges would serve the overall shape of the pitcher. There's a principle that the eye goes to the area of most contrast, which is the fuzzy edge. So it seems a little distracting. And being that it is simple, every element counts.

Having said that, this is a wonderfully rich color statement. The ellipses are quite good, and the highlight is a particularly dramatic graphic statement in and of itself. It's as if there's in this picture a blend of graphic sensibilities, as well as a freer art style.

Were this to sit on a page, it would really stand out and serve a page layout and even be a very good device to draw the eye to something of note if you had lots of competing copy.

Very nice work. And I can see lots of ways this could be used.
