    Snowageddon ~ ~ ~

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Today is officially the first day of spring but in rememberance of the
    record breaking Pennsylvania snow fall we've experienced this January
    and February, 3 to 5 feet depending on the area, I would like to share
    some of the photo's that I have taken in love and respect for the sheer
    beauty of this special and unique occurence.
    Yesterday most of the white, marshmallow fluffed landscape had just
    about all disappeared due to rising temperatures and can't quite explain
    it but .... I will surely miss the breathtaking, majestic beauty of it all.
    Thought I'd kick off this frosty grouping of winter wonderland images
    with a favorite song of mine that rather robustly sings of the summer
    to come. If THIS song doesn't thaw you out from under a snow drift,
    may I respectfully suggest a .... blow torch???
    The first photo is of my snow bound home ... the second, the view from
    my front porch only two weeks ago ... not even the street could be seen
    ... or found!
    The additional images to come were taken while traveling with Mukluks
    on my feet and thermo gloves and camera in hand.
    This photo was taken of a nearby wooded lot. The beautiful blue sky
    defies the frosted over temperament of the flocked trees.
    This one is a recent icy view from my bedroom window . I knocked
    them all down after I snapped this photo for fear that I might be
    imprisoned without due cause until the spring thaw.
    Alexandra,
    It is so nice to know that you are enjoying the photos, thank you!
    It was recently reported on the news that the last time Pennsylvania
    experienced a snow fall of this magnitude was back in 1886 and so
    astoundingly beautiful it was while it lasted. I look at it as being given
    a rare glimpse of something unique that may only pass our way but
    possibly once in a lifetime so I enjoyed every snow kissed minute of it.
    Below, noticable are my footprints as I ventured out early one mid February
    morning with camera in hand to capture some interesting snow scenes. As
    you can see, no one else seems to be interested in exploring the transformed
    scenery as the white stuff continues to fall with happy abandon.
    P.S.
    and don't let ANYONE tell you that there is no such affliction as
    temporary snow blindness. I was a bit embarrassed when the
    snow plow driver had to dig me out ... or so he says! ... though
    I don't seem to recall how I made it back home again or why I
    seemed so cold from the nose down.
    This photo depicts a fantasy like scene of an area in my back yard that
    I captured with my camera one morning in late January. This image is one
    of my favorites because it seems so surreal ... as if it had been created
    for the movie ... Doctor Zhivago.
    Beautiful photos and you poor soul did the snowplow knock you in that big snowpile or did you just wander in while enjoying the beauty
    of nature , doesn't the first day of spring fall on the 20/21 ?
