    WaterWheel Gorge, Sundown

Another image that goes with a story I am working on right now. This is part of a series of images of a countryside on a Far World.

What an dramatic environment. It's very well realized between the choices of colors and atmosphere and it's just simply the kind of place I would love to walk around and explore. . . even as a mere tourist.

Hits the mark. Very nice. Oh, what's that stair step business on the right? This is the second time I've seen such a thing in paintings and still haven't got a handle on what it does.

One of the things I loved about illustrating was the opportunity to do research. The down side of that was that sometimes I would get lost in the research and not get to the painting till late as the deadline drew near. But I loved researching old books and National Geographics and so on for that reason.

This is awesome, so beautiful. I like how the fog seems to drift in, passing by the castle
