    On the Hill

Hi gang! Well it's been a long, long time since I posted here. Some of you may or may not know that we were in the great flood of 08 here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. As such my life was disrupted big time. We rebuilt our home and are living home again! In the meantime our Daughter broke her hip and so that has slowed us down a bit too. Andrea is hanging in there and should be walking in a couple of weeks and then life should be back to normal.
Anyway it took me a long time to get back into painting and now with AR3 (I like it!) I had to try it out.
On the hill is a silly, but fun painting. What I am really trying to do is use colors properly and so used a double complementary scheme. It is very hard to pull off however because it's easy to stray from the plan and I'm sure I did. Hope you like it.

The colors and design work wonderfully together. I really like the style of this image! Nicely done!

I remember when that flood happened. Last summer on our drive from CO to MN we stopped to get gas (in Iowa) off of Highway 29 (I think). In the gas station were photos of the gas station during that flood. All you could see was the roof and the tops of the gas pumps!

Welcome back and glad you are painting again!

Edit: Come to think of it, I don't think we were near Cedar Rapids... Perhaps those photos were from another flood in Iowa.
