    Creating a Vertical canvas

In AR2.5 whenever I put in a width that was shorter than the length, both in the layers tab and on the screen, it was possible to view the "vertical" canvas. In AR3, I am unable to achieve that and in fact, although I've put the dimensions in, it continues to show a horizontal canvas and I am not able to distinguish where the vertical sides end as I did previously. I evidently am missing something here perhaps with one of the settings. Please help.

in "file" go to "new painting..a new painting box will open. set width and hight you desire . then go to the little box next to the "pring size option.
open that box and it gives y ou the option to add a new option presize. Thats the way it worked for me. You dont have to save the presize if you dont want to. good luck

  3. As “quickdraw” already mentioned, File / New Painting should always work...

    Other options are:
    Go to Edit / Resize the Painting / e.g. Width 400, Height 800 /
You might have to uncheck (tick the cross) Preserve Original Aspect...
Click OK / This should work as well...
(if Preserve Original Aspect is checked, ArtRage will “default back” to that Ratio...

Go to Edit / Crop/Expand the Canvas / leave Preserve Original Aspect checked /
click the Width Window and type in a value / click the Height value /
ArtRage calculates automatically the right aspect ratio / see the canvas preview below /
Uncheck Preserve Original Aspect / do the same / see the canvas preview below /

    Regards
    Nolan

Thanks for your help. Unchecking the Preserve Original Aspect worked.
