    Ira Hayes Valley

Ira Hayes, the Pima Indian and Marine, who helped raise the flag on Iwo Jima, certainly had a pretty rough life after his service, before drowning drunk in 2 inches of water.
Somehow, I think Ira would have preferred to have spent the rest of his life in a valley like this.

Well, I can't imagine why Ira or anyone else (including myself!) wouldn't want to spend the rest of their lives in this beautiful valley! You have the beautiful mountains in the background, birds flying above, horses grazing in the field below as you quietly reflect your days sitting in the shade under the tree.....

.....Oh!!! It's time for me to stop daydreaming now and get back to reality!!!

You've done a great job, Michael.....this is a wonderfully painted scenery!

Thank you. Glad to hear that, because grass is something I have struggled to figure out how to paint, and I took a lot of time with this one trying to get it right.
