    Wink Castle Gallery (4) - Working with 'Convert tracing image to paint'

    Okay, today I learned another ArtRage great possility: 'load a tracing image' and to 'convert tracing image to paint' (tools > tracing options >). Then I started painting with a fat oilbrush. What a feature, and what a time saving and a bit lazy way to make believable paintings... ofcourse some of you are already using this way of working. This method doesn't proof that the painting itself says something about the painter but more about the photo picture itself. This method starts by making a nice picture first. Ofcourse the final result, the painting counts. And when it is good, it's good. My thoughts...

    So now and then I will upload some nice Dutch castle paintings here, painted by this method.

    Enjoy!

    Briex - Yes, there are some already doing this. The problem is that it does nothing to improve a person's abilities. It just shows another way of Photo Manipulation. It has its place, I suppose, but its a device, not so much a tool, if you know what I mean.

    This is very true and I must say that it is less fun to do than the real painting. Anyway the only thing left to put a personal touch in this mechanical way of painting is the way of brushing and selecting the brush width and pressure.

    sigh!

    Well, the method is limited to existing images.

    I want to see you painting some made up aliens - for example -
    with that method.

    First of all I like your brush strokes and this is what you are pointing on usually,
    very nice work ;
    if you want to be more creative , after doing this painting you can disable the tracing functions about color and bring your own inventivity about color shape
    and composition,
    in case you have interest and time for that.

    I did not know this was a possibility. Thanks for the information. These paintings look great.
